Amped4Life TrustPat Buckley-Managing DirectorAmped4Life Trust 09/07/09 In reference to Deb Bell To whom it may concern, I have had the privilege of knowing Deb Bell for about 6 years after I was introduced to her at a morning Sunrise Rotary Club meeting that I had been asked to address. This one meeting was to prove so significant that a connection was made immediately and I realized that our hearts both beat to a similar drum and that she was also inspired and motivated for the greater good. From that first impression, my friendship and respect has grown for the amazing woman that Deb is. I think one word can summarize Deb and this is the word passionate. Her warm and infectious personality immediately draws you into the bigger picture. For this we are so grateful. After hearing our speech, Deb saw that the message of Amped4Life needed to be shared with a much larger audience and she has steadfastly sought a network of connections and opportunities for the community at large so that Amped4Life may add value to the city of Rotorua and to Rotary. This has resulted in Deb connecting Rotary Sunrise Rotorua with Amped4Life to share our life giving message to RYPEN students (Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment) which we have continued to do for the last 5 years. Deb also saw opportunity in the local area and last year a Rotorua District Council Initiative was birthed called project CARV (Curbing Alcohol Related Violence) Based on a Needs Analysis of the alcohol-related violence environment in Rotorua, an Action Plan detailing 16 strategies for the Rotorua District was developed. One of these strategies detailed the increase in education and awareness of health issues in relation to alcohol through a series of organised speakers at a minimum of four secondary schools. Deb Bell and Emma Redaelli spearheaded this successful campaign where approximately 6,000+ students attended sessions delivered by Amped4Life over a week period. Stemming from this Project in 2008, Deb saw an even greater possibility and I could see the cogs in her brain working overtime to provide our services to an even greater audience. Deb Bell has worked tirelessly to reconnect with Rotorua District Council in an effort to expand the sphere of influence our organisation could offer Rotorua. This led to a 7 school, 5 presentation project which will roll out over the next 3 years and will make a significant impact on the lives of many people throughout the Rotorua area. I fully endorse Deb Bell for her passion, commitment and motivation for many community initiatives I have seen birthed under her watch and am proud to associate with Deb not just on a professional basis but also as a close friend and confidante. I value her integrity and single minded drive to see communities empowered to the greater good. I have come to know and love her family as very dear people and what I see Deb demonstrate in the community is but a reflection of what she models at home. If I can be of any further service, please do not hesitate to call me regarding Deb. Many Thanks 021461325 (Mobile) |
